Settlement in 5 Years
Exceptional Promise holders qualify for ILR after 5 years continuous residence. Still faster than many other routes and with complete work freedom.

Two-Stage Application Process
Global Talent visa requires endorsement first, then visa application.
Apply for Endorsement from Designated Competent Body
Submit endorsement application to the relevant body for your field (Royal Society, Tech Nation, Arts Council, etc.). Provide extensive evidence of your exceptional talent or promise: awards, publications, patents, media coverage, expert recommendations, leadership roles. Each body has specific criteria. Processing: 8 weeks. Fee: £715.
Apply for Global Talent Visa (Within 3 Months)
After receiving endorsement, apply for visa within 3 months. Submit online application with: passport, endorsement letter, TB certificate (if from listed country). NO English test, NO financial proof, NO job offer needed. Processing: 3 weeks (outside UK) or 8 weeks (inside UK). Fee: £716. Visa valid for 5 years.
Apply for Settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain)
Exceptional Talent: Apply for ILR after 3 years continuous residence.
Exceptional Promise: Apply for ILR after 5 years continuous residence.
After ILR, apply for British citizenship 12 months later. Your time on Global Talent counts fully toward settlement. No absences exceeding 180 days/year.
