Overview of Creative and Sporting Visa
The Temporary Worker – Creative and Sporting visa (formerly Tier 5) allows you to work in the UK in creative or sporting roles for up to 12 months. This visa is for artists, entertainers, athletes, and sports coaches who have been offered temporary work in the UK.

- You've been offered work in the UK as a creative worker or sportsperson
- You're from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland

What You Can Do

Eligibility Requirements
Certificate of Sponsorship
- You need a valid Certificate of Sponsorship from a licensed UK employer
- Your sponsor must be licensed by the Home Office for this visa category
- The work must relate to the work of your sponsor organisation
- Certificate is valid for 3 months from the date assigned to you
Financial Requirements
- You must have at least £945 in savings
- Money must have been in your account continuously for 90 days before you apply
- Not required if your A-rated sponsor certifies maintenance on your Certificate
Additional Requirements for Sportspersons
- •Letter of endorsement from your sport's governing body
- •Confirmation that engagement will develop your sport at the highest level in the UK
- •Evidence of international recognition in your sport (if applicable)

- TB test results if from a country where required
For Sportspersons & Coaches

- Evidence of sporting achievements and recognition

Application Process
Get Certificate of Sponsorship
Your UK employer must be a licensed sponsor and provide you with a Certificate of Sponsorship reference number. This confirms your job offer and sponsorship details.
Apply Online
Apply up to 3 months before your start date. Pay £298 application fee. The earliest you can apply is 3 months before the date on your Certificate of Sponsorship.
Provide Biometrics
Attend an appointment at a visa application centre to provide your photograph and fingerprints.
Wait for Decision
You should get a decision within 3 weeks. Premium services available:

Duration & Extensions
- Creative workers: Stay up to 12 months initially, extend up to 24 months total
- Sportspersons: Stay up to 12 months, can extend up to 12 more months
